Nativity Sets

I can’t wait for the holidays to get here. Especially Christmas, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. I’m starting to get some ideas for the holidays. It is decoration time. First I will start with the indoors the fire mantel, dining room, foyer, and the living room. Oh, and the banister, too.

Then I will continue to the outdoors, but I need more inspiration for a nativity scene. The outdoors will be a little more difficult to decorate. My lawn has a little hill and I’m not sure how to decorate it without my Nativity sets falling down or if it starts to lean. I have enough time to think of some preparations and how to for the outdoors. But, if anyone has any ideas in the blog world, please let me know. I’m open to any suggestions.

Are you getting ready for the holidays? If so, here are some great nativity sets for your outdoors.

I definitely like this one the six piece illuminated nativity set it has Mary, baby Jesus, Joseph, and the three Wise Men. It has a soft glow and it’s perfect for small size lawns.

If you have a large lawn, this nativity set would be great for you. It has fourteen pieces including Mary, baby Jesus, Joseph, the three Wise Men, Gabriel, an ox, a camel, donkey, an angel and a shooting star. All are life-size.

You can choose individuals nativitiy sets like Joseph with the staff, Gasper holding the light on his hands, Gabriel with lamb, baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Mary kneeling down, baby Jesus, or the shooting star to complete your set. If you are just starting to build your nativity scene, I would begin with the Baby Jesus.

Do you already have a nativity set?

Fall is Around the Corner

Every winter I have my son collect the firewood from the backyard. He hates bringing in the firewood as he drags his big feet and mumbles on his way out to the backyard. He complains about how heavy and uncomfortable it is for him to bring in the firewood. Unfortunately, we don’t have a fancy contractor to haul in the firewood inside the house. We do it the old fashion way. Either we bring it in using our hands or we put it in a cardboard box.

My son would definitely love the wood chuck wood hauler. All he has to do is pile the wood, haul it into the house and add it to the firewood rack.

How do you bring firewood into your house?

I am in need of a firewood rack, see picture above. Do you see where the duraflame firestart box is? Well, normally the duraflame firestart box is on the side of the fireplace. I store my firewood on both sides of the fireplace where the duraflame firestart box is currently. There are many firewood racks out there, but I haven’t found the right one that will go with my decor and that’s small enough to hold the wood.

Where do you store your firewood inside the house?

I love Fall and I can’t wait til it starts so I can decorate the house for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I’m currently looking into Ebay for Halloween fabric to decorate the dining room, especially the table and windows.

Does anyone have any ideas in decorating the foyer for Halloween? I’ve tried decorating it last year, but it just didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. It is a small a foyer, but big enough to have some type of Halloween theme. Any ideas in decorating small spaces?

I have a huge fireplace and I did decorate it last year, but I think I will revamp it with bigger props and make it more spooky. Well, I will try let’s see how it’ll turn out. I will definitely post pictures once I’m done.

Do you decorate your house inside or outside for every holiday or special occasion?

Prepare for Black Friday

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving day. On Black Friday retailers have a massive discount sale. It’s the day for retailers to even out their profits of any losses from January to November sales. Both the retailers and customers benefit from this huge sale.

On Black Friday, expect to be in crowded stores and have a lot of patience you will be dealing with rude, and pushy people. In my past experience, I’ve learned to avoid Black Friday as much as possible by using layaway plans or buy sale items through out the year for my holiday gifts. Yes, I know I may not receive the discount price, but I’ve bought it without all the chaos of Black Friday.

Add the following step to your preparation on sale items. Don’t be fooled with items on sale. Search for the regular price first then look at the sale price here you will determine if the item is actually on sale. Most merchant may advertise a sale, but is it? Yes and No, the item is for sale, but not on sale. You want to save you want discounted prices, so compare, search and be alert.

There is a store that I visit frequently, which I’m not going to mention this particular store has a weekly sale. The sale items are marked with yellow tags with the sale price on it, but the sale price is the same as the regular price. So, how is it on sale? It’s not. This is to confuse the consumers thinking its on sale, but it’s not. Compare, search and be alert.

If there is a need to attend Black Friday prep yourself up with a few steps for this chaotic day.
